Hex in High Heels by Linda Wisdom
Hex in High Heels by Linda Wisdom is delightful. This book is the third in the series. I am very anxious to read the first and second book in the series. Then, finish the rest of the series. The story takes place at Moonstone Lake, a resort town. With the snow, the Annual Winter Carnival, the elves and a mention of Santa it was difficult for me to remember that Christmas and New Year had gone by. Anyway, the cold weather, the furry slippers, high heel boots and men wearing plaid flannel shirts gave the book a holiday feeling.
There is also a Halloween mood floating in the air around Moonstone Lake. This is because of the witches, Blair and Stasi and other witches. There are also werewolves. For example, Roan, Jennifer, Vera and Jake. Jake is far more complicated because of the tangled threads of his family bloodline. Then, there is Horace. Horace is a Gargoyle.
Moonstone Lake is definitely not the average community. It is the most exciting one I've read about lately. Linda Wisdom left no one and nothing out of this fun tale. I fellin love with the slippers named Fluff and Puff. Fluff and Puff are tattooed above Stasi's ankle. Fluff and Puff always have an opinion.
Somehow Fluff and Puff don't make "Hex in High Heels" silly. As a matter of fact beneath the layers of the story there is jealousy and deep hatred between family members. Also, there is serious romance happening between Jake and Stasi. I thought about the old saying "nothing is fair in love and war." It's so true in "Hex in High Heels" by Linda Wisdom.
