"A Marquis to Marry" by Amelia Grey is a perfect Regency romance. Amelia Grey made me want to fall in love all over again. Only this time in a different place and at a different time. Raceworth is rich, handsome and strong. All that any woman could want in a lover.
Susannah is attracted to Race. At the same time she has more important business on her mind than roses and graceful dancing. She is carrying around in her purse important family papers. These papers prove that her grandmother's stolen pearls belong only to her, Susannah, and no one else.
Both Raceworth and Susannah are stubborn beyond words. Raceworth refuses to even look at the papers. While Susannah continues to put the papers under his nose. I felt very anxious that beautiful, priceless pearls might ruin the perfect love match. Amelia Grey knows how to create suspense. Of course there are other family members involved. These are Race's cousins. I hope to learn more about these guys in other books. After all, this is "The Rogues' Dynasty.
I feel Amelia Grey is one of the best romance authors. She made me laugh. She made me angry. At times, I talked out loud because of a silly duel that an old man wanted to fight with someone else. I am talking about Gibby. He's foolish, but you have to love him. He's one of those people who wouldn't hurt a dragonfly. All of the character are interesting. It's just a wonderful book. The Talbot Pearls just add to the intrigue. By the way, I enjoyed the bits of Lord Chesterfield's wisdom at the beginning of each chapter. There is also a bit of scandal hanging around Susannah's neck. So, she is a woman with a past. This makes "A Marquis to Marry" even more exciting.
