A TREASURY OF African-American Christmas Stories by Bettye Collier Thomas

This is a wonderful, compact book filled with stories and poems for Christmas by African-American authors. I wanted to share a few of my favorite lines throughout the book with a discovered picture, painting, photo on the internet. I hope you will enjoy this Christmas magic with me.

Fanny May's Christmas by Katherine Davis Tillman
"Over at Granny Hope's she snuggled under the warm Irish chain quilt and peeped out every little while to see if she could see any sign of Santa Claus..."

"Come home with me, I will give you shelter for the night, and a Christmas dinner."

The Blue and the Grey by Augustus Hodges

"Come home with me, I will give you shelter for the night, and a Christmas dinner."

The Test of Manhood: A Christmas Story by Pauline Elizabeth Hopkins made me cry. All of stories are just so passionate and real.

'"ef he was in prison, an' I couldn git ter him no urrer way I'd be willin' to crawl on my hands and knees ez fur agin ez I done come to get up Norf, jes' fur one look at him."'

It's Monday What Are You Reading?

I finished last week Two Tickets to The Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul. Now I'm reading mortal friends by Jane Stanton Hitchcock. It's a mystery. Photo in sidebar.
