ROYAL GIVEAWAYS

Hi there!

If you haven’t already checked out the Sourcebooks British Babes Book Brigade Facebook Page (where you can participate in giveaways and interact with authors like Elizabeth Chadwick, Jill Mansell, Helen Hollick, Sarah Bower and Phillipa Ashley and more…) then you should before next week because the page is about to go royally mad!!

The royal wedding is only a week away and we are going to be celebrating all next week. Starting Monday we will be doing a giveaway every day until the big celebration on Friday. But these are no ordinary giveaways – these are royal wedding prize packs!

3 winners will be randomly picked each day:

- The 1st place winner will get a William & Kate wedding memento (it is top secret for now (just like Kate’s dress J) but check the page out on Monday to find out – oh and they are all different so there will be a different memento each day).  Along with that they also get their choice of three books from any of our British Book Babes.

- The 2nd  place winner will have their choice of any two books from any of our British Book Babes.

- The 3rd  place winner will have their choice of one book from any of our British Book Babes.

Just for posting on your blog we will provide two Georgette Heyer titles for a “Georgette Giveaway” for you to offer your followers. BUT you have to reply back and please tell me that you are posting and send me the link so I can keep track.

You can visit the page here:

Lazarus Awakening by JOANNA WEAVER(WATERBROOK)

Lazarus Awakening by JOANNA WEAVER is a very powerful and simply laid out Bible study about the life of Christ and the people whom he met during his life here on earth. The names were not unfamiliar to me. There is: Lazarus, Martha, Mary and Jesus. What is magnificent and inspiring about this book is that it took me deeper in to the lives of these ordinary people. Mary is more complex than the Mary who sat at Jesus' feet anxious to hear His words rather than do kitchen duties. Martha also is more developed than the busy, harried hostess preparing an evening meal for her LORD. Surprisingly there is more to tell about the events surrounding Lazarus' death. After being dead for more than a day or two days, have we ever thought about what his body must have smelled or looked like? What were the bandages like?

JOANNA WEAVER also further develops the definition of "tomb." I just think of a big hole or grave. I have never likened it to my personal life. The book, Lazarus Awakening, is meaty. It's a book I kept close to my bedside. I always wanted to read more and learn more about the resurrection of Lazarus. There are insets in the chapters. These could make a book in and of themselves. At the end of my journey through the book I felt closer to finding my place in the Heart of God.joannaweaverbooks

Sula by Toni Morrison

"It was in that summer, the summer of their twelfth year, the summer of the beautiful black boys, that they became skittish, frightened and bold--all at the same time."

Universe (U)

U) Wow! I've never comprehended the vastness of the universe. Astronomy is a very hard subject for me. I can't fathom the distances from planet to planet. If I think of the earth revolving around the....I become dizzy. I believe what the astronauts felt as they touched the moon must have been beyond my comprehension. I get excited just going on a trip 300 miles away. What must they have felt? I hope one day children will have the chance to go up in space like teachers did a few years ago. I won't live to see man live up there. I think he might just do it.
