I’m Patricia Raybon. Welcome to my home--and my heart. I write books about both. So I write to heal. Why? I want to inspire myself and others to slow down, turn from our noise and get back to beautiful things that heal—a simple faith, healthy family, a clean house, real food, wise values, loving friends, good money management and simple living.
It's a journey for sure. And I don’t have all the answers. But as I travel this path--writing my blog and my books--I’ll share what God teaches along the way. My warmest thanks for keeping me company.

It is a spiritual pleasure to open this devotional at any time of the day. Each time I feel like I am wandering through a field of wildflowers along with the Godly virtues. Here are a few of the themes or virtues: Prudence, Listening, Contentment, Knowlege, Purity, etc. There are 52 virtues in all. Of course, I haven't read the whole devotional. Once finished I will always return to it. At the beginning of each chapter there is a scripture verse. At the end of the devotional, there are quotes from famous people. For example, on one page under the theme STRENGTH AND VIGOR, there are Martin Luther King Jr.'s words.
The strong man is the man who can stand up for his rights and not hit back.
Also, at the end of each section is content titled Going Deeper. Here you can meditate more deeply with pen and paper, if you so desire. This section pressed these Godly thoughts into my head more deeply. The book The ONE YEAR GOD'S GREAT BLESSINGS DEVOTIONAL by PATRICIA RAYBON is soft to the touch. The soft, grass green leather took me closer to God's Throne. I always like to rub my hand over the cover during meditation. I am grateful to PATRICIA RAYBON. She encourages me to try a new and closer walk with the Lord.

Celebrating the Gift of African American spirituals through Expressive Calligraphy
This lovely unique book is broken down in to four themes: THE BIBLE STORY, TIMES OF TROUBLE, TRUE TESTIMONY and HEAVEN SOUND. Each page is wonderfully colorful like you've taken a dip in a lake of pretty paints. The spirituals on the pages are written in Calligraphy and other types of writing. These pages kept me in an adventurous and fun mood the whole time. There are also photographs in circles. These circular photographs directly relate to the spiritual on the page. There are photographs of a door, shoes, lion, clock, rocking chair and the famous Baobab tree from Africa. I felt especially drawn to the Baobab tree. The authors Timothy R Botts and Patricia Raybon describe the baobab tree in this way.
"The baobab tree, native to Africa, is one of my most memorable images of visiting South Africa. With a trunk sometimes wider than its height, it was the inspiration for me of being immovable."
Beside the photograph of the baobab tree are the words to the hymn "I Shall Not Be Moved."
