"For years, I'd wished I could speak Italian--a language I find more beautiful than roses-but I could never make the practical justification for studying it. Why not just bone up on the French or Russian I'd already studied years ago? Or learn to speak Spanish, the better to help me communicate with millions of my fellow Americans? What was I going to do with Italian? It's not like I was going to move there. It would be more practical to learn how to play the accordion. But why must everything always have a practical application?"shouldbereading

ALEPH by PAULO COEHLO
I have decided to not continue with ALEPH by PAULO COEHLO. I believe this novel is perfect for certain people in our society. The people I speak about are those who continue to question our journey through life. These readers have a very high understanding of spirituality. However, I am at the bottom of the pyramid. I'm not even sure which questions to ask. Not sure whether I want to hear the answers that might be shared by someone as knowledgeable as PAULO COELHO. Also, not sure whether I'm content with the spirituality I've learned over many years.I'm in the land of confusion. The land of confusion is one where you are searching and hope to find.
To make a long story short ALEPH is just becoming more complicated for me. I'm lost in a forest. The forest is probably filled with healing plants. I just can't dig deep enough to reach the branches. I've lost the strength to pull any harder. So, this brings my journey on the Trans-Siberian train to an end. I am sure many other travelers are waiting to board the train just as Hillael did with her violin.
I did come away with a burlap sack filled with treasures after reading 47% of the novel.
